Renault Laguna

Laguna combines outstanding drivability with superior safety standards.

Design

With its elegant styling and quality finish, Laguna is clearly an upmarket vehicle.

Exterior design

Laguna is an elegant car of dynamic and robust lines. Its convex hood gives it an air of upmarket sophistication. At the front, the elliptical xenon headlights and chrome strips give the car an elegant and determined appearance. With its flowing, well-balanced body design, Laguna is a car boasting subtle appeal.

Interior design

The cabin of Laguna is an invitation to travel… Ergonomic design and premium looks create an impression of comfort and well-being. Particular emphasis was placed on the design of the seats, the steering wheel and the dials. The dashboard, with its flowing lines, is pleasant to look at and to touch. With its high-quality finish and equipment, Laguna is an impressive car.

Driving pleasure

Laguna places advanced technology at the service of the driver. The objective is to help the driver anticipate, react and keep control of the vehicle in all circumstances. The lights come on automatically in low daylight and the windscreen wipers are activated when it rains. The cruise control, speed limiter and navigation system allow the driver to get the most out of Laguna's exceptional on-road qualities.

Designed to respect the environment, the 150hp and 175hp 2.0 dCi engines set high standards in drivability: performance, high torque available over a wide rev range (85% of power at 5,000rpm) and quiet operation.

Traveling comfort

Laguna was the first car to feature Carminat Navigation & Communication. The voice recognition function lets the driver access the main navigation and Bluetooth hands-free telephone functions without taking his or her eyes of the road. The central multimedia controls of the Carminat system are positioned where the manual handbrake â€" replaced by the parking brake assist â€" would normally be.

Safety

The first car ever to receive a five-star rating in Euro NCAP crash tests back in March 2001, Laguna set a new standard in vehicle safety. It features ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Emergency Brake Assist. If the car loses its grip on the road, ESP immediately sets it back on course. ASR ensures traction on unstable terrain.

The cabin is fitted with up to eight airbags, six seatbelt pretensioners, an Isofix system, and ergonomic anti-whiplash head restraints.

Environment

From the design stage through to recycling, Laguna aims to protect the environment. Laguna is 95% recyclable by total body weight. Controlled fuel consumption has reduced CO2 emissions.

Both the gasoline and diesel engines meet emission control standards in all the countries where Laguna is sold. The Laguna 1.9 dCi engine, developing 110hp, 130hp or 140hp, is fitted with a particulate filter as standard. In terms of noise pollution, Laguna posts external noise levels of just 71dBA. Like Vel Satis, Laguna is produced at Sandouville, France, an ISO 14001 certified site.
