Exterior design
Modus' assertive personality is expressed in its bright, cheerful lines. Its cab-forward windscreen and vertical headlamps give it expressive, assertive appeal. Body lines are compact and flowing. The large glazed area and wide windscreen create a panoramic effect and let the light flood in.
Interior design
Cabin space is a byword for generosity. Modus is exceptionally spacious, with a panoramic view at the front and an easy-to-use modular bench in the rear. The airy spaciousness of the cabin underlines its warmth and comfort. At the same time, the friendly atmosphere is enhanced by the clean, curving lines of the dashboard, where driving information is accessible to all the occupants.
Driving Pleasure
Modus has a bright, spontaneous personality and is particularly nimble in the city. Longer journeys reveal the full extent of its on-road qualities, such as impeccable roadholding, variable-assist power steering and safe, surefooted handling. After all, Modus' suspension is based on that of Mégane II â€" a guarantee of comfort and performance.
Traveling comfort
Combining modular design, interior space and compact dimensions, Modus boasts an array of creative solutions. These include ingenious stowage compartments, a modular rear bench and a front passenger seat cushion that folds to store objects safely while driving. Low noise levels and a raised driving position of ergonomic design ensure a relaxed drive.
Safety
Modus obtained the maximum five-star rating in Euro NCAP tests. For child protection, it shares first place with Clio III. Modus bristles with equipment taken from segments further up the range, including ABS with Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), low-beam range-adaptive xenon headlamps and additional cornering lights. The driver and the passengers enjoy optimal protection. The car's structure is designed to crumple, in order to resist and absorb impact. Modus is available with up to six airbags and seatbelts with load limiters and pretensioners. For children, the two rear side seats and the front passenger seat are equipped with Isofix anchorage points.
Environment
A full 95% of Modus is recyclable by body weight. To achieve this result, the car uses:
- recyclable plastics: 16kg in all
- renewable materials (natural rubber, cotton and linen): a total of 7.5kg.
The eco-design of the Modus dashboard won second prize in the 2005 Entreprises & Environnement awards from the French Ministry for Sustainable Development.
As a result of the aerodynamic studies conducted during the design phase, Modus strikes an ideal balance between performance, fuel consumption (from 4.6l/100km) and CO2 emissions (from 122g/km, depending on engine type). The entire engine range complies with Euro 3 and Euro 4 emission standards.
Modus sets high standards in acoustic comfort, with a noise level of 71dBA, some 3dBA lower than required by European regulations.
