Design

With its expressive front end and original rear design, Scénic possesses a sculpted and harmonious profile. Its strong on-road stance expresses the robust strength of a grand tourer with wide tracks and a long wheelbase. Inside the car, the high-tech features are discreetly integrated into the streamlined dashboard. The materials are pleasant to the touch, thus contributing to Scénic's friendly personality.

Grand Scénic has the same balanced, harmonious design as Scénic, with an extra 23cm in body length. Its exceptional interior space reflects its generous family-focused personality. It can seat seven passengers in comfort.

Driving pleasure

Scénic combines the drivability of a sedan with the raised driving position and visibility of a minivan. Design and technology combine to enhance driving pleasure, with such features as ergonomic seats, intuitive controls, variable-assist electric power steering and parking assist. So the occupants can relax and enjoy the lively, precise and surefooted handling.

Traveling comfort

Generous space and modular design create a host of configuration options. The folding passenger seat can become a table top. The three rear seats can be tipped up, slipped along a rail and removed in the twinkling of an eye. The car has no fewer than 91 liters of ingenious stowage compartments, placed under the seats or floor.

The well-designed acoustics and bright, airy atmosphere add the finishing touch to traveling comfort.

Safety

For sharp handling, Scénic and Grand Scénic feature ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Emergency Brake Assist. They are also available with new-generation ESP and ASR traction control.

Setting high standards of protection for all the occupants, Scénic vehicles feature the third-generation Renault System for Restraint and Protection (SRP3): three-point seatbelts on all seats, the Isofix system for child seats and up to 10 airbags. At the rear (including the third row on Grand Scénic), all the seatbelts feature load limiters, with pretensioners on the side seats. At the same time, an "anti-submarining" system prevents occupants sliding under the belt in the event of frontal impact.

Special convertible child head restraints are also available, allowing children to sleep in comfort and safety. The vehicle body features many programmed crumple zones, and a number of body parts made of high-yield steel to absorb energy in the event of impact.

Environment

From the design stage through to recycling, Scénic and Grand Scénic aim to protect the environment.

Both vehicles use mainly recyclable materials, such as aluminum and plastic. As a result, both are 95% recyclable by body weight.

Scénic and Grand Scénic are manufactured at ISO 14001 certified production sites. These sites seek to limit the impact of their activity on the environment (water and energy consumption, pollutant emissions, reduced packaging waste).

With the 130hp 1.9 dCi engine, Scénic gains a particulate filter that reduces pollutant emissions. In terms of noise pollution, Scénic exceeds applicable European standards with an external noise level that is 3dB below requirements. Renault developed its first complete life cycle inventory on Scénic II.
